This article presents a section of the theoretical framework created for the author's doctoral thesis, titled "A Study of Desires and Defenses in Accounts of Experiencing Temporality in a Group of Brazilian Adult Women Users of the Instagram Fans of Psychoanalysis." The work analyzed temporality as a recurring theme in psychoanalysis. Through a literature review that included works by Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, and David Maldavsky, it was concluded that psychoanalysis offers a deep understanding of temporality. From fundamental concepts such as the timelessness of the unconscious, the nuances of early life and trauma, to the concepts of repetition present in repression and the death drive, psychoanalysis explores forms of discomfort and psychic suffering. Thus, through psychoanalysis, it is possible to delve into issues related to subjective temporality and the way the subject experiences them.
This paper will present the object and theoretical framework of an ongoing research. The object of the research is the analysis of testimonies of politicians convicted of white-collar crimes, whose objective is to investigate the manipulative behavior of these politicians, based on studies on desires and defenses, according to Maldavsky's theory. The concept of "whitecollar crimes" refers to financial crimes, such as fraud, active and passive corruption, money laundering, among others. We will use Criminology to account for this concept. On the other hand, the research will be guided by Freud's Psychoanalysis and, for that, it will present its fundamental concepts. And it will use Maldavsky's ADL (David Liberman Algorithm) as an instrument of discursive analysis in the analysis of the testimonies.
