Instrumentos para el análisis pragmático del discurso periodístico sobre corrupción con el Algoritmo David Liberman (ADL)

Abstract

El análisis pragmático del discurso es de utilidad sobre todo en contextos de lenguaje fuertemente estructurado que manifiestan el conflicto y una toma de posiciones a favor o en contra de una situación, aunque no de modo explícito. Ejemplo de esto son los artículos de periodismo de investigación, que manifiestan actitudes del periodista/periódico, a la vez que intentan generar representaciones en la audiencia con el fin de inducirla a tomar cierta acción, manteniendo el lenguaje formal propio de los artículos periodísticos. En casos como este, un análisis pragmático del texto permite inferir deseos y defensas no detectables a partir del análisis semántico. El presente artículo justifica, en primer término, la creación de los instrumentos, luego describe la teoría y metodología en la que se basan, incluyendo las estrategias que utilizan para evitar el riesgo de sesgo. Después de presentar los instrumentos, muestra ejemplos en que se aplican y, para concluir, describe el tipo de resultados que los instrumentos descritos aquí permiten obtener.

The pragmatic analysis of discourse is especially applicable in contexts of strongly structured language that manifest conflict in a non-explicit way. As an example, investigative journalism articles manifest attitudes for or against a situation and try to generate representations in the audience in order to induce it to take action, while maintaining the formal language of newspaper articles. In cases like this, a pragmatic speech act analysis allows to infer wishes and defenses not manifested in the semantic analysis of text. This article justifies the need for the development of the new instruments, then describes the theory and methodology on which they´re based, including the strategies devised to avoid bias. Then the article describes the instruments illustrating the phases with examples and, to conclude, it describes the type of results which can be obtained.
