Abstract

La imagen fotográfica es ante todo un medio visual que permite la conservación de la memoria gráfica del ser humano. Desde su aparición, la cámara fotográfica se distinguió de otros sistemas de producción de imágenes, por la veracidad de lo captado por la cámara, por ser de una forma de atesorar el tiempo presente, recuerdos y ser un testigo fiel de aquello que ha pasado, un referente fidedigno de lo acontecido, de lo que no ha de ocurrir nuevamente, no ha de volver a verse jamás. La fotografía, testigo visual silencioso, enriquece la vida de la humanidad. Cada imagen representa y significa un paso, una senda dentro de la vida de quien empuña una cámara fotográfica y de quien mira con atención la superficie bidimensional de una foto. La imagen fotográfica es una huella, un índice y una marca de lo registrado por el objetivo y el material fotosensible utilizado, un rastro del paso de la especie humana por esta tierra.

The photographic image is, before all, a visual media that allows the conservation of the graphic memorabilia of the human being. Since its first appearance, the photographic camera distinguished itself, from other image production systems, for the veracity of what the camera captures; for being a different way to cherish the present, the memories, and as a truthful witness of everything that has already passed; a worthy reference of what has happened and cannot happen again, come back or even repeat. Photography is a silent witness that enriches the life of humanity, each image represents and signifies a step or a path inside the life of who wields a camera and of who looks carefully at the bidimensional surface of a picture. The photographic image is a print, an impression, a mark, or indication of what has been registered by the lens and the photosensitive material used, a trace of the human species path on this land.
