El peso de la imagen en la construcción del relato. El caso de Vivian Maier

Abstract

El presente trabajo se propone analizar el estatuto de realidad de la imagen fotográfica tomando como caso de análisis el cuerpo de obra de Vivian Maier y el documental de John Maloof “Finding Vivian Maier” con el fin de indagar en los distintos modos de construcción de relatos, las distintas lecturas de sus imágenes y su veracidad a través de distintos autores como Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag y Pierre Bourdieu, entre otros.

The present work aims to analyze the reality status of the photographic image, using the body of work of Vivian Maier and the documentary by John Maloof “Finding Vivian Maier” as a case study. The goal is to investigate the various modes of narrative construction, different interpretations of her images, and their truthfulness through the perspectives of various authors such as Roland Barthes, Susan Sontag, and Pierre Bourdieu, among others.
